Gratitude, Respect, and the Road Ahead

As you all may have seen, the race did not go how we hoped last night. First and foremost, I’d like extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported this campaign: our amazing volunteers, donors, and anyone who has encouraged us along the way. It has been truly humbling to have so many people support our campaign. I also want to thank my whole family for coming along on this adventure with me. Amos Holmes, first thank you for being a great campaign manager - even if I like to argue with you sometimes. You’ve been my biggest cheerleader, and it’s been so wonderful to have you alongside me every step of the way. Gabs - your advocacy and willingness to step up and fight for what you believe in inspire me every day. I love you both so much!

I am so incredibly proud of the hard work we put it in this year. We knew going into this race that it wasn’t going to be easy. I’ve always been too stubborn to back down from a challenge though. We knocked on close to 2800 doors and had countless conversations with our neighbors. Our message of hope and wanting every Minnesotan to be free and empowered to pursue the life they choose resonated with so many that we spoke with.

That being said, the voters have spoken, and I of course will honor the results of our election system. I would like to extend congratulations to Representative Quam on winning his reelection. I also would like to sincerely thank him for running a clean campaign. It was refreshing to run against someone who just stuck to the issues and did not stoop down to personal attacks. He and I may disagree on much more than we agree on, but we were able to respect each other and even find some common ground on a few issues. I wish him luck during this next term.

Once again, thank you to everyone who walked alongside us. It has been an experience I will never forget. It was so rewarding to find so many people who share our values and vision. The work is far from finished, but I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished.
